Please join us at the inaugural Pacific Northwest Global Donors Conference, Pathways for Strategic Giving, March 19-20, 2010 in Seattle, Washington. This first-of-its-kind conference in the region promises to increase your connections, knowledge and enthusiasm for global grantmaking.

The conference is designed expressly for the Northwest grantmakers and philanthropists active and/or curious about global philanthropy, and will:

  • provide information to increase your confidence in global grantmaking;
  • provide education on many of today's most significant global issues;
  • identify best practices that address the root causes of global poverty and fundamental human rights issues; and
  • link you to the growing community of global philanthropists in the region.
  • Highlights include:

    Kavita Ramdas, President and CEO of the Global Fund for Women, will kick off the conference with an opening plenary address on Friday evening followed by a full day of plenary and workshop sessions on Saturday. Workshops on Saturday include:

    • Different Pathways for Global Giving: What is the range of giving options for international grantmaking? John Harvey, Executive Director, Grantmakers Without Borders.

    • Creating a Personal Roadmap: Betsy Brill, President of Strategic Philanthropy, will discuss the techniques involved in creating a mission for your global giving.

    • William H. Gates, Sr., Co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will give the closing address.

    Cost of registration is $150 before March 5, 2010 and $200 after.
