The Biden administration recently announced sanctions against Russia in response to the Solar Winds hack, where Russian hackers roamed around American computer networks—including private companies and federal agencies—undetected for nine months. The Solar Winds hack is just one in a growing list of destructive cyberattacks that leaves all of us vulnerable. Join the World Affairs Council on May 5 at 12:00pm PT for a discussion with New York Times cybersecurity reporter Nicole Perlroth on her new book, This is How They Tell Me the World Ends. In conversation with moderator Jonathan Tepperman of Foreign Policy, Perlroth will unpack the underground market of cyber weapons and zero days and discuss the implications of previous cyberattacks and the challenges of defense in cyberwarfare.
