Luke McFadden
Luke McFadden is a 2nd-year student at the University of Washington pursuing a B.A. in Political Science: International Security and a B.A. in Global and Regional Studies. Luke is from Mill Valley, California, and has always had interest in the world around him. Last summer, Luke conducted research alongside a Georgetown University professor focusing on how artificial intelligence is impacting the future of work and how labor unions are responding. His main academic interests include the strategy and psychology behind negotiations, the impact of globalization and automation on labor forces around the world, and sustainable development and trade policies.
At the University of Washington, Luke is a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He is the co-director of the fraternity’s philanthropy efforts and has helped to raise money for ALS research and patient support.
Luke loves to spend time outside, whether it’s running, biking, surfing, or paddle boarding. As a Northern California native, he is also an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. He is very excited to join the World Affairs Council team as a Global Leadership Exchange intern and learn from the people he will meet along the way!
