Isabella Wright
Isabella Wright is a 4th year undergraduate at the University of Washington pursuing a B.A. in Global and Regional Studies as well as a minor in Spanish. While originally from Denver, Colorado, her drive for a more global focus brought her to Seattle. In her quest to expand her global understanding, Isabella worked as a research fellow with the Disability Inclusive Development Initiative at the University of Washington. This experience allowed her the opportunity to pursue her interest in global affairs while working on a team. Her main academic interests include the interconnected nature of international relations, the historical influences on modern day governmental decisions, and the various ways in which global decisions affect individuals based on their intersecting identities.
Through working with the TESOL program, Isabella was able to achieve a more global perspective. She worked to encourage a more inclusive understanding of the English language while challenging the idea of a native speaker and promoting local cultures.
Outside of her studies, Isabella loves to paint, travel, watch movies, and bake. She has come to call Seattle her home and has enjoyed the unique opportunities it has offered her. Isabella is delighted to be working with the World Affairs Council as a Global Leadership Exchange Intern and to make the most of what this unique experience offers
