Content Club: Finding Third Places
February 25th, 2024 6:00PM -8:00PM
What is Content Club? It’s like a book club, but bite size...and more fun.
In this new YPIN event series, we’ll organize informal gatherings to discuss everyday topics from a global perspective. We’ll provide content for you to read, watch or listen to before the event (articles, podcasts, videos, Tiktoks, shows, maybe excerpts from a book or two). Take in as much or as little as you can, bring recommendations of your own, and come ready to discuss. At the end, we’ll provide a repository of your recommendations and thoughts so that you can revisit these resources.
This month, we’re talking about the concept of third places: locations beyond home and work/school where people can gather, spend time, and find community. A third place can be a bar or restaurant, a church or a library, a plaza or a public park.
What do third places look like in different parts of the world? What cultures and communities get third places right? And what can we do to find and foster more fulfilling third places here in Seattle? What is your third place? What does your ideal third place look like?
This month’s content explores all of these ideas. Read/watch/listen, and come ready to share your thoughts!
