Michelle Frix
Michele is an experienced chief of staff and social impact leader with more than 15 years working in the philanthropic sector, both in the US and internationally. She has a proven track record in successfully building and managing teams, as well as partnering with donors to increase their investments in racial equity and justice. Michele has held a range of leadership positions: from leading a start-up family foundation, to evaluating Microsoft's corporate giving globally, to her position today at Seattle Foundation, an innovative community foundation partnering with thousands of donors to deepen their impact. Passionate about civic engagement and volunteering in her community, she is honored to serve on three nonprofit boards. Michele is fluent in Spanish with extensive experience in grantmaking and research throughout Latin America, especially in gender equality, reproductive rights, and youth leadership. Michele has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Washington’s Jackson School of International Studies, an Executive Master of Public Administration from the London School of Economics, and a Master of Public Health from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. In 2015, Michele was named an American Express NGen Fellow, and a member of the inaugural class of Henry M. Jackson Leadership Fellows. In 2017, she represented Seattle in the Young American Leadership Program at Harvard Business School. She is also a Security Fellow at the Truman National Security Project.
