Katie Porter
Katie is a senior global health advocate with 20+ years of experience developing and executing strategies to influence governments and the public on complex global health issues, including health system strengthening, primary health care, and women’s health. She spent the first 15 years of her career in Washington, D.C., beginning as a staffer in the U.S. Congress and then as Director of U.S. Government Relations at CARE USA. For the past 9+ years, Katie has been a Senior Advocacy Officer at the Gates Foundation where she developed and led its advocacy strategy on primary health care (PHC). Currently, she supports the foundation's engagement with Canada and the United Nations. She lives in Seattle with her husband and son.
