The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by the World Affairs Council which is a member of Global Ties U.S.
Promoting Cybersecurity: 15 cybersecurity chiefs, cybercrime investigators, and network security officers will visit Seattle on a program to assess risks to cybersecurity and to evaluate the role of the private sector in promoting cybersecurity, including public-private information sharing and data protection.
AI Policy, Security, and Ethics for ASEAN: 8 visitors from Southeast Asia will visit the United States to investigate the current AI landscape, focusing on policy, security, and ethics. In Seattle, they will meet with corporations, startups, and government offices to learn about efforts to protect privacy, form a global governance framework, and the latest developments in technology.
Strengthening Partnerships and Developing Critical Technology in Support of AUKUS: 6 defense directors, research heads, and university professors from Australia and the United Kingdom will come to Seattle to explore promoting education in maritime related fields, supporting communities hosting submarine bases, and supporting communities hosting submarine bases.
Honoring 75 years of U.S.-Indonesian Relations: 10 young professionals from Indonesia are coming to Seattle to highlight the political, social, and economic partnership between the U.S. and Indonesia, and provide an overview of the shared democratic values between both countries.
Transparency and Accountability in Government: /12 community leaders and government officials from Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, and Timor-Leste will travel to Seattle to explore the underlying principles of ethical systems for accountability in government and business in the United States as well as examine the mechanisms that enable citizens to foster good governance, ethical standards, and accountability at the local, state, and federal levels.
NGO Management: 4 NGO Heads and Leaders from Kazakhstan, in their time in Seattle, will examine NGO and public service management strategies in the United States, and explore the diversity of the non-profit sector and dynamic relationships between government, businesses, and NGOs.
U.S. Foreign Policy - Global Challenges II: 18 political advisors and defense ministers from throughout Europe are going to discuss foreign policy issues that concern Europe and the United States and players in the U.S. foreign policy formulation in their time in Seattle.
Freedom of Religion and Belief in Vietnam: 5 researchers, professors, and officials from Vietnam are traveling to the U.S. to support Vietnam’s process as it drafts implementation decrees for its Law of Religion and Belief that help improve protections for religious practitioners across Vietnam, especially in ethnic-minority populations. In Seattle they will engage in conversations about laws, policies, and practices that support nondiscrimination in religious practice and belief in academic institutions, as well as the role in religion in public and private schools.
