Manuela Noske
Manuela is the Communications Manager for the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) which is a global, non-profit trade association supporting the translation industry. At GALA Manuela oversees the organization’s communications portfolio and its content development. Prior to joining GALA, Manuela worked on product internationalization and localization at Microsoft Corporation for over 17 years. She is passionate about languages, cultures and communication, and holds an adjunct position in the UW’s department of Human Centered Design and Engineering.
Manuela has a doctorate in linguistics from the University of Chicago and a Master’s in African languages from the University of Cologne, Germany. She has extensive experience doing field research in East Africa and has conducted business on the continent with both, the private and the public sector in her role as senior program manager at Microsoft.
