Tony Smith
My name is Tony Smith. I was born and raised in Seattle WA. I grew up a very curious kid and went on to get a degree in Biology from Central Washington University. While at CWU I worked with 5 non-human primates who communicated using sign language. This led me to be a passionate supporter of extending rights to non-human primates and to the wold of animals around us who clearly are sentient. I received my Masters in Public Health from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2008. I have worked in Biotechnology, Transportation and now Intellectual Ventures. Through my work at Intellectual Ventures I have been listed on multiple patents and have assisted in solving difficult problems. I was part of a team that was asked by Bill Gates to assist healthcare workers in West Africa during the Ebola outbreak in 2015 and participated in the Ted Conference for Bill Gates. I am a primary communicator for outside visitors to Intellectual Ventures Lab and would love to be considered by the World Affairs Council for the Fellow program.
