Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management: A group of 7 visitors from all around the world will visit Seattle to examine the local, state, and federal approaches to disaster management, emergency preparedness, and emergency response. Visitors will learn about how these organizations align to advance their plans and the communication network during a widespread disaster or emergency.
El Salvador – U.S. Exchange Programs and the Industries of the Future: A group of 11 visitors from El Salvador will visit Seattle to examine best practices for expanding international student exchange programs and the varying functions of universities, community colleges, and vocational/technical schools in preparing young people to enter the marketplace.
Library Management: A group of 5 visitors from Uzbekistan will visit Seattle to establish ties with U.S. libraries, study the role and functions of libraries and information specialists in the U.S., and learn about the newest training models for librarians at U.S. institutions of higher learning.
