Jenner Mandel
Jenner is a Senior Program Manager on Microsoft’s Global Readiness Team, which provides leadership company-wide. Jenner monitors geopolitical and cultural trends and advises Microsoft teams about risk, and risk avoidance. She recently completed a year-long special project, piloting uses of Microsoft language-related technologies for humanitarian purposes. As part of the project, she created a phrase book that will ship with Microsoft Translator, providing a tool for first responders, and others, to communicate during emergencies. Jenner brings to her role broad experience, not just in the technology industry, but also in international public health, education, and government service.
Previously, Jenner managed web sites for software companies, ensuring that content was relevant for international audiences. As an independent consultant, she worked with non-profit organizations to create training and job aids for health care professionals in low-resource countries, and to develop planning materials for a global health organization. Jenner holds a BA in English from Earlham College and an MA in International Relations from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
