Alicia Austin
Alicia Austin is the former controller for Aero Law Group, an aviation law firm in Bellevue,
Washington. She recently retired from teaching junior high and middle school science in Lake Washington School District. Prior to teaching, she lived in the Bay Area and worked for Hewlett-Packard as a project lead testing software upgrades for internal accounting programs. She has long been a supporter of children’s educational programs both domestically and internationally. This involvement includes time volunteering for children’s programs with DSHS and currently working with Safe Passage; which provides education and support for children living in the Guatemala City garbage dump.
Alicia holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Minor in Aviation - Flight Operations from San Jose State University, and a Master’s in Education from the University of Washington, she also holds educational endorsements in math and science. Alicia enjoys traveling internationally, trying to spend at least one month a year overseas. A board member since 2007 Alicia served as the secretary for the board between 2008-2017 and participated in the 2014-2015 Fellows cohort.
