Nicole Vu
Nicole Vu is a junior undergraduate student at Yonsei University working toward a degree in International Studies. She was born in Vietnam, but later on decided to study abroad in South Korea. The key factors influencing her decision were the issues with the Korean Peninsula. Nicole is interested in learning more about South Korea’s policies and approach toward the threats and provocations from North Korea, as well as its initiatives to normalize relations with the country. Considering how the United States has been playing an active role in promoting peace and stability in the region, Nicole has recently participated in an exchange program to the Henry M. Jackson School of International Studies at the University of Washington.
Over the years, Nicole has become more aware of the importance of global understanding and engagement in advancing international peace and security. This is the reason why she is looking forward to contributing to the World Affairs Council as an International Visitor Program Intern during her brief stay in the United States. In her free time, Nicole enjoys meeting and traveling with new friends from different corners of the world and staying informed of world issues. After undergrad, she plans to explore her career options in the non-profit sector.
