Muhammad Yunus
Dr. Yunus is an economist and founder of Grameen Bank. A former professor of economics, Dr. Yunus is famous for his work in microcredit: extending small loans to people who would not normally attain credit from traditional banks. In 2006, Dr. Yunus and the bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, "for their efforts to create economic and social development from below." Dr. Yunus received his PhD from Vanderbilt University and has received many honorary degrees.
