The International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State with funding provided by the U.S. Government and administered by the World Affairs Council which is a member of Global Ties U.S.
U.S. Judicial System: Protecting Women and Children: 22 lawyers, prosecutors, judges and legal non-profit representatives, each representing a different country, are visiting Seattle to learn about the tribal court system and policy-based approaches to protecting indigenous women and preventing domestic violence.
Global Public Health Challenges: Nine health professionals from throughout Africa are coming to Seattle to explore infectious disease prevention and treatment, community-based care, combating misinformation, and global health innovations.
Economic Development and the Environment for ASEAN Municipal Leaders: Eight leaders from various ASEAN countries are coming to Seattle to examine factors to ensure environmentally responsible growth, examine empowerment as an economic tool, and facilitate future collaboration and innovation.
The Fulbright Korean International Education Administrators (KIEA) Program is funded by the Korean Fulbright program through the Korean-American Educational Commission and implemented by the Institute of International Education (IIE) in partnership with the World Affairs Council.
Fulbright Korea International Education Administrators: Seven Higher Education Professionals from campuses across Korea will visit Seattle to investigate themes related to international student recruitment, retention, and support.
The Open World Program is funded by the Congressional Office for International Leadership (COIL) and implemented in partnership with the World Affairs Council.
Open World - Armenia: Through this Congressional program, Five Judges from Armenia will visit Seattle to learn about the U.S. judicial system's and judiciary's best practices in intellectual property rights to develop new professional relationships and opportunities for continued collaboration in this field.
The On-Demand Youth Leadership Program (ODYLP) is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administered by Legacy International in partnership with World Affairs council Seattle Washington.
Youth Leadership Program: Community Service: 20 youth leaders ages 15-18 and 2 adult mentors from Georgia will visit Seattle for the 2024 Community Service Youth Leadership Program. While in Seattle, these young leaders will explore themes such as volunteerism, community engagement, youth empowerment, activism, and social justice.
These 20 students have gone through an intensive selection process to participate in this scholarship exchange trip. They were selected based on their leadership skills and dedication to environmental issues in their communities, and will stay with host families for full cultural immersion.
