Understanding Sustainable Tourism - the Role of Marine Protected Areas: Ten professionals from the tourism industry and the environmental sector in Jordan are coming to Seattle to understand how tourism impacts our local economy and how we foster care for the ocean through the community.
The On-Demand Youth Leadership Program (ODYLP) is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs administered by Legacy International in partnership with World Affairs council Seattle Washington.
On Demand Youth Leadership Program: Digital Literacy: 21 youth leaders aged 15 - 18 from Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru and three adult mentors (25+) will visit Seattle for a program focusing on digital literacy and the use of social media to address community issues. ODYLP: Digital Literacy is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), administered by Legacy International to empower participating youth to use leadership skills to identify and seek solutions to pressing global and community issues, and learn how to use digital technologies and social media can help inspire others. These 21 students have gone through an intensive selection process to participate in this scholarship exchange trip. They were selected based on their leadership skills and dedication to environmental issues in their communities, and will stay with host families for full cultural immersion.
