Crisis Management and Reliance in Coastal India: 6 visitors from India will visit Seattle to learn about earthquake and tsunami preparedness, crisis management resources, and the involvement of the state government in emergency response and disaster management.
Labor Relations: 11 visitors from The People’s Republic of China will visit Seattle to learn about how the development of the digital economy has impacted traditional labor relations and governmental views regarding labor relations in new sectors on the local, state, and federal levels.
LGBTI Civic and Economic Participation: 5 visitors from Spain will visit Seattle to learn about how grassroots organizations influence LGBTI rights policy at the local, state, national, and international levels in the United States. They will also examine the role of the media covering LGBTI issues in the United States and abroad, including the use of social media in human rights campaigns, and initiatives for the protection of LGBTI human rights.
Social Entrepreneurs: 7 visitors from around the world will visit Seattle to learn about the role of social entrepreneurship in the United States and what makes social ventures sustainable, self‑sufficient, and scalable, as well as the role of new and social media in driving social entrepreneurship.
U.S. Energy Policy – Security, Independence, and Innovation: 6 visitors from Europe will visit Seattle to learn about current energy considerations and deliberations from stakeholders and influential leaders in commercial industry, strategies for energy resource management, and the role of academia and research institutions in energy innovation and security.
Women in Politics and Civil Society: 20 visitors from around the world will visit Seattle to learn about the participation of women leaders in the U.S. political system on the local, state, and national level, programs and initiatives that encourage young women to get involved in civic activities, and legislation for equal pay and fair treatment of women.
Focusing Judicial & Law Enforcement Resources on Domestic & Sexual Violence: 4 visitors from Moldova will visit Seattle to learn about the work of specialized units within police departments and prosecutors’ offices that focus on sexual assault and to discuss policing and prosecution strategies.
