Ahmed Fahad
Ahmed Kadhum Fahad is an educator and expert in linguistics, international education, and English language teaching. He arrived in the U.S. in 2012 as an international student, and after earning a doctorate in Second Language Studies from the University of Cincinnati, he and his family immigrated to the U.S. Since then, Ahmed has contributed to multiple U.S. higher education institutions, and he currently serves as a full-time faculty member at Highline College in Washington, where he teaches and mentors students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. His work is deeply aligned with his commitment to fostering global citizenship, intercultural understanding, and inclusive education. Ahmed’s experience spans international contexts, including serving as an interpreter for the U.S. Army, a consultant for the Coalition Provisional Authority, and an education adviser for the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. He has been recognized for his global leadership, notably winning the United Nations’ Many Languages, One World Essay Contest and presenting at the UN General Assembly on critical global issues. Ahmed later returned to the program as a trainer, further contributing to its mission of promoting multilingualism and global engagement. He has also led educational, conflict resolution, and community development initiatives in Iraq in collaboration with international organizations like the UN and USAID.
