Ashley Thomas
Ashley is an experienced product designer, mechanical engineer, and product manager interested in big ideas with impact and the potential to scale. She has spent the last ten years working in East and Southern Africa designing, manufacturing and selling products for bottom-of-the-pyramid customers. During this time, she has developed and sold over 200,000 products, providing clean water and energy to over 5 million people in 7 different countries. She currently works for Remitly as a Product Manager supporting the design of the platform to ensure immigrants can safely and quickly send money home. The platform she supports currently sends over $20 million a day. Ashley holds an BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), an MSc in Water Science, Policy and Management and an MBA from Oxford University. She is Oxford Said Business School's first ever winner of both the Skoll Scholarship for Social Enterprise and Pershing Square scholarships, was selected as one of the top 100 MBA students globally, and and was recognized by MIT's President a Community Catalyst.
