Brian Screnar
Brian Screnar is Head of Global Operations at otaaki inc., a French-American sustainable designer eyewear company based in Seattle. Prior to this, Brian served as Head of Operations at Pando, a FinTech startup focused on income pooling for future earnings stability, and as Partner and Director of west coast operations at New Profit, a leading venture philanthropy organization based in Boston. Additionally, Brian served as Chief of Staff to Nathan Myhrvold, Founder & CEO of Intellectual Ventures (IV), a pioneering private equity and invention firm based in Bellevue. WA. Prior to his tenure at IV, Brian worked for over a decade in the national political arena, having directed U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell’s federal operations in Washington state and served on Secretary Ken Salazar’s senior leadership team at The U.S. Department Of The Interior during the First Obama Administration. Brian also served as Finance Director to the 2009 Obama-Biden Presidential Inaugural Committee and as Deputy Finance director to President Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign, where he managed daily finance operations for the campaign’s historical fundraising program. Additionally, Brian worked for Indosuez Carr Futures, a former futures and options investment firm based in Paris France. Brian is an active member of the Seattle community. He serves on the Board of Trustees of the Burke Museum Association, the Board of Directors of the World Affairs Council, the Board of Trustee of the YMCA of Greater Seattle and serves as the Vice Chair of the Washington State Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights.
