Cara Smith
Cara Smith is a senior at the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, double majoring in International Affairs (concentrating on Contemporary Cultures and Societies) and French. She is pursuing a minor in Business to balance out her literary-heavy majors. She spent her junior year studying abroad, spending her fall semester at the University of London School of Oriental and African Studies and her spring semester at Sciences Po Paris. She has a particular interest in Francophone countries, specifically with a gender-focused lens. In her role at the World Affairs Council, she hopes to continue to immerse herself in an international community, this time with the opportunity to show off her hometown. She also hopes to gain experience fostering productive, engaging conversations on a wide variety of topics with people from all over the world.
In her free time, Cara can be found outside hiking, running, cycling, reading, or lounging by the water. When she is inside, she’s probably grabbing coffee, thrifting, cuddling with her cats, or cooking with friends and family. In the long term, she is interested in policy and ethics in International Affairs or global corporate relations.
