Cassidy Nelson
Cassidy Nelson joined the World Affairs Council in 2021 as a Program Officer for the Global Leadership Exchange. She holds a B.A. in Global Studies and Spanish from The New School in New York City. She has spent over 15 months living, working, and studying in Ecuador, Cuba, and Argentina. Given the profound impact that international exchange has had on her own life, she is passionate about facilitating exchanges that allow others to build meaningful connections across cultural and linguistic boundaries.
Before joining the World Affairs Council, Cassidy worked with nonprofit organizations in New York City and Seattle focused on immigrant rights, refugee resettlement, and intercultural education. Most recently, she led a group of Seattle area high school students on a cultural immersion to Guatemala with Global Visionaries. Cassidy is driven by a commitment to intersectional, community-centered social justice, and is excited to contribute to the World Affairs Council. She spends her free time exploring Seattle, weaving, knitting, reading, listening to podcasts, and hunting for vintage clothing.
