Delaney Carroll
Delaney is a senior at the University of Washington in the Jackson School of International Studies. She is majoring in International Studies with a minor in Spanish. While in college, Delaney has been fortunate to study abroad twice as well as intern in Washington DC. She attended a summer session at the London School of Economics where she studied global marketing and she spent part of her junior year in Barcelona immersing herself in the rich, diverse history and culture of Spain and Catalonia. Shortly thereafter, Delaney received an internship at the State Department in the Bureau of Legislative Affairs. Working closely with the Deputy Assistant Secretary, she was able to experience first-hand the inner workings of U.S. foreign policy from both the congressional and executive perspectives. During her final year at UW, Delaney will be writing her honors thesis on the role of regional organizations in peacekeeping missions in Africa.
Delaney is thrilled by the opportunity to apply all she has learned to her work at the World Affairs Council. As a Community Programs intern, Delaney hopes to gain a better understanding of the fundamentals behind non-profit work as well as connect with the global community at large in Seattle.
