Jesse Canedo
Jesse is a technology advocate, global citizen, and driver of equitable economic development. He believes in the ability of better knowledge access and technology to make science fiction’s boldest ideas a reality and improve society. His customer-focused and results-driven management style help communities deliver on their commitments.
Growing up around the Air Force in central Texas, Jesse was exposed to the ideas of public service, international affairs, and the importance of trade in his formative years. Those ideas led him to seek out new ideas and new cultures, including undergrad in New England, working for the Department of State in Australia, and a master’s program in Spain before being drawn to the Pacific Northwest’s enduring beauty and future-focused culture.
Over the last nine years in public service, Jesse has built diversity-forward startup support programs, developed collaborative multi-city services, worked with the Brookings Institution’s Global Cities Initiative, and managed foreign trade zones. He has a proven ability to build trust with a broad customer base, manage complex constituencies, and test new ideas that lead to business growth. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, real estate investing, sci-fi novels, kayaking, and Washington wines.
