Nate Ren
Nate Ren joined the World Affairs Council as Community Events Coordinator in September 2017. After finishing a double major in International Affairs and Philosophy at Lewis & Clark College, Nate returned to his home city of Shanghai—deploying his inherent dual culture and dual language abilities to bridge and introduce a rapidly growing Chinese mobile TV audience to a wide variety of lifestyle topics from an international perspective. As a child of Euro-American and Chinese parentage, he navigates the global village with a uniquely blended perspective and relishes the opportunity to draw and connect a greater Seattle audience on the wide variety of issues the World Affairs council addresses. Nate appreciates that in the United States, one has luxury to debate wide-ranging issues from foreign policy to gender politics and civil activism, and hopes to entice Seattle’s rapidly internationalizing population to attend the Council’s programs and expand global awareness. In his free time, Nate likes to boulder, rake the recesses of the Internet for new music, read lofty philosophical journals, and cook Asian cuisine.
