Rachell Gulanes
Originally from Unalaska, Alaska, Rachell is a first-generation Filipino American who graduated from the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) in 2018 with a BA in Legal Studies. While at UAA, she chaired Alaskeros Kasamahan, a student organization that explored the history behind Filipinos in Alaska and shared Filipino culture with others on campus. With a professional background in public service and law, Rachell has interned for Senators Lisa Murkowski and Dan Sullivan, the Honorable Deborah M. Smith, U.S. Magistrate Judge of Anchorage, and the U.S. Probation & Pretrial Services. In late 2018, Rachell moved to Seattle to begin her career in legal and compliance; she currently works as a legal & compliance assistant at NorthStar Energy. In her spare time, you can find her gallivanting around Seattle looking for great eats, reading a book, or getting a workout in at a local cycle or pilates studio.
