Sara Chernikoff

Sara is a multi-platform journalist and experienced grassroots organizer. She studied journalism and public policy at the University of Maryland and currently works as a data reporter for USA TODAY’s national trending team. Sara is passionate about practicing innovative storytelling using data. Outside of journalism, she has experience organizing demonstrations  and advocating for policy reform. Her student activist organization—Hoco for Justice—partnered with CASA to advocate for legal protections of undocumented immigrants in her hometown of Howard County, Maryland. This led the county council to declare Sanctuary City status in Howard County.
