Shawn Knowles

Shawn is the Innovation Director at Weyerhaeuser. His team works to build the innovation culture, coach others on proven methods and tools to help solve problems, and to onboard employees to use the Weyerhaeuser innovation collaboration platform to share, evaluate, prioritize, and execute the best innovations. Prior to joining Weyerhaeuser in 2019, Shawn worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies including Ball Corporation, Abbott, Medtronic, Battelle, and Lockheed Martin in industrial sectors spanning aerospace, consumer packaging, medical devices, and national defense. He has an M.S. in Management of Technology with an international residency in India from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. in Material Science & Engineering and a B.S. in Ceramic Engineering with an Environmental Science minor, both from Clemson University. Shawn also serves on the Advisory Board to the Tombolo Institute at Bellevue College Design Thinking Program.
