Egypt: If King Tut Could Talk
If King Tut could talk…how would he describe life along the Nile? Would he have considered himself an early global citizen? In what ways has he become a global citizen after death? If he could journey back to his stomping grounds in 2012 what would look or feel familiar to him? Puget Sound educators will gather on November 1, 2012 to not only meet the King and other important rulers (on exhibit at the Pacific Science Center) but also to discuss ways to engage students in learning about ancient Egyptian culture and inspire them to learn about Egypt today. This accompanying 44-page resource packet includes an assortment of lesson plans and articles focusing on mummies and mythology, archeology and repatriation of artifacts, as well as resources on Egypt today. Numerous lesson plans are highlighted because of their relevance to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) subjects and Common Core standards.
