This curriculum resource guide was created to supplement the World Affairs Council's Community Event,
"Understanding Climate Migration"
This resource guide helps educators teach students about climate change, with a focus on climate migration. It aligns with the Washington State K-12 Social Studies Learning Standards, the College, Career, & Civic Life C3 Frameworks, and Educating for Global Competence. The guide includes learning objectives, a glossary of key terms, and materials to help students understand the causes and impacts of climate change, as well as its role in Climate Migration. It covers current and future trends, the effects on low-capacity countries, global displacement, and policy actions to mitigate climate migration.
Additionally, the guide explores Multidisciplinary Approaches to Migration and the Role of International Collaboration and Funding in addressing climate-related challenges. Overall, this resource provides educators with tools to engage students in understanding climate change, developing solutions, and becoming proactive global citizens.
